He climbed down from the building. 两句都有人说，但严格来说，如果只是说「他从大楼爬下来」，from 实属不必，所以第一句比较「正确」。但这并不是说 climb down 后面一定不可以加 from，至少下面两个情况需要加 from。 第一，两个工人在大厦里清洁，一个在天台，一个在五楼，下班的时候：One worker climbed down from the roof; the other climbed down from the fifth floor. 第二，如果意思不单是爬下来，而且还要离开刚爬下的东西，而那东西又不是大厦那么巨大，那么 from 不但不觉累赘，反而令句子的意思更清楚： At the end of a long journey, the tired bus driver climbed down from the bus and let out a sigh. 长途旅程结束，疲倦的巴士司机从巴士爬下来，叹一口气。 Have you any questions about English usage?
