他想问"between now and then" 是什么意思？是否跟 "every now and then" 一样？
Now 和 then 指的是两个时刻，now 是现在此刻，then 是另一刻，可以是过去，也可以是将来。
俗语谓「今时唔同往日」，用英语说出来， 可以是 "then was then, now is now"。这里的 then 当然是过去。
对白里的 then，是指未来的某一个时刻。譬如说星期一上课时老师吩咐同学做功课，要他们星期四交，然后说：
If you have question between now and then, come and ask me.
这里的 now，就是星期一，then 就是星期四。也就是说，如果学生在星期一与星期四这段时间有不明白的地方，可以问老师。
Every now and then 的意思略有不同，解作不时、时而。 例如某君平常不怎么抽烟，但有时也会和朋友吸一两口。 我们可以说：
He would smoke a cigarette every now and then.
