农业税是国家对一切从事农业生产、有农业收入的单位和个人征收的一种税，俗称“公粮”。2006年2月22日国家邮政局发行了一张面值80分的纪念邮票，名字叫做《全面取消农业税》，以庆祝从2006年1月1日起废止《农业税条例》。这意味着，在我国沿袭两千年之久的这项传统税收的终结。作为政府解决“三农”问题的重要举措，停止征收农业税不仅减少了农民的负担，增加了农民的公民权利，体现了现代税收中的“公平”原则，同时还符合“工业反哺农业”的趋势。

Betty:In 2004, Chinese Government made the commitment to her 800 million farmers to abolish agricultural tax in five years, marking the termination of China’s agricultural tax system lasting for thousands of years and a great change once in its thousands years of history.
