Nouns are countable or uncountable. Uncountable nouns do not have a distinction between singular and plural and cannot be counted because they cannot be easily divided. This means that they are not used with the articlesaoranor numbers. Some uncountable nouns are used only in the singular, for exampleinformationorfurniture. Others, such asnewsare only used in the plural.
